Excited for the Potential of Web3 Gaming and MYSTiC GAMES
One of today’s biggest trends in web3 investing is gaming. As the founder of web3 venture capital fund Shima Capital, this is something I know all too well. That’s why over thirty percent of Shima’s investment portfolio, of which there’s over 180 companies, is in gaming. One of the most recent additions to make a splash is MYSTiC GAMES.
The MYSTiC GAMES team is a crew of industry veterans on a mission to create the next wave of heart stopping multiplayer mobile games. Founded just last year, they create Web3-integrated mobile games with free-to-own NFTs earned through gameplay.
Hailing from Rovio, King, and Miniclip among other places, MYSTiC GAMES has the chops to live up their mission. They plan to give players an accessible and free web3 experience. In their upcoming game, all NFTs will be free and discovered by players through gameplay. They’ll also be tradeable and, in an effort to reduce the barrier of entry for web2 gamers, a crypto wallet will not be necessary to transfer NFTs. This is a very big deal for onboarding gamers who might be skeptical about web3 assets and even the terminology involved.
Why do I see such big potential in projects like MYSTiC GAMES? It’s because they’re finding new ways to innovate web3 games by making life easier for the player. Our team at Shima Capital is constantly on the lookout for gaming projects that push the envelope in terms of what can be done to enhance gameplay and minimize friction in onboarding traditional web2 gamers. This will be the future of web3 gaming. This is the future of gaming in general.
At Shima Capital, our internal gaming team continues to grow and consists of several investors and analysts, all of whom are lifelong gamers in their own rights. Our mandate is and will continue to be finding top web3 gaming projects like MYSTiC GAMES as well as the plethora of additional projects already in our portfolio.
